Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical design team in Halifax. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design Leadership
- Lead a team of electrical engineers and designers in the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, emergency systems, grounding, and other building systems.
- Develop and implement electrical design standards and guidelines.
- Project Management
- Manage electrical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
- Technical Expertise
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, code, and standards.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in electrical engineering, including design software and tools.
- Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and industry representatives.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities that align with TriMac Engineering's strategic goals.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Registered P.Eng. with Engineers Nova Scotia or another Canadian province.
- 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in designing power systems up to 600V, lighting, fire alarm, communications, grounding, and other related systems for buildings.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent technical writing, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, and ability to lead electrical teams to success on multidisciplinary projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in relevant design software packages such as PowerTools, ETAP, and photometric analysis tools.
- Business Acumen
- Understanding of business principles and practices, including project management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
