This role is focused on driving sales growth within the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) Division. Our mission is to empower individuals with diabetes to effectively manage their health through innovative products that deliver precise data for informed decision-making. We are at the forefront of transforming glucose monitoring with advanced sensing technology.
As a Diabetes Sales Specialist, you will engage in activities aligned with company policies and ethical standards to achieve optimal sales performance in your designated territory. Your responsibilities will include establishing connections with high-prescribing healthcare professionals, educators, and retail pharmacists within the diabetes sector, while also maintaining comprehensive knowledge of disease states, competitive products, and Abbott's offerings to fulfill customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategic sales plan for your territory by analyzing market trends and leveraging available data to set, track, and adjust goals effectively.
- Enhance sales and market share of glucose monitoring systems and test strips by effectively educating healthcare providers on the benefits of Abbott products.
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to increase market penetration.
- Implement targeted patient engagement initiatives to facilitate insulin therapy initiation.
- Identify and seize opportunities for sales growth while working in tandem with Abbott representatives and marketing personnel.
- Commit to ongoing professional development to stay informed about diabetes management, new product offerings, and industry changes to optimize sales strategies.
- Clearly communicate sales activities and progress, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to administrative requirements.
- Maintain all company-issued equipment and documentation in accordance with organizational policies to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of sales experience is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of diabetes sales and marketing networks, including technical knowledge of diabetes management and Abbott's product line, is necessary for effective representation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities are crucial for maintaining product distribution and achieving sales objectives in a competitive landscape.
- Excellent interpersonal and selling skills are required.
- Capability to develop and present innovative solutions is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills are necessary.
- Previous experience in diabetes care is advantageous.
