This position is field based in the Eastern Ontario area. We're focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.

The Diabetes Account Manager is responsible for serving as primary contact for Abbott Diabetes Care to drive awareness and adoption of the FreeStyle Libre sensor and digital ecosystem among healthcare providers and key clinics/practices.

The role involves:

  • Leading and collaborating with various cross-functional partners to drive business growth.
  • Establishing strong relationships with healthcare providers and identifying opportunities and barriers to engagement.
  • Building engagement plans that enhance recommendations of the FreeStyle Libre portfolio and utilization of the Abbott digital ecosystem.
  • Maintaining a high level of disease state, competitive knowledge and Abbott Diabetes Care products and ecosystem knowledge to meet the customers' needs and expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively liaising with key decision makers to build long-term business relationships and deliver on goals.
  • Mapping national/provincial account influencers and coordinating alignment of tactical execution across accounts.
  • Understanding and analyzing market dynamics within the diabetes healthcare ecosystem to generate deep insights on future trends that impact the brand and market.
  • Mapping the diabetes patient journey and pathways in key accounts within your assigned territory to deepen understanding, identify unmet needs, and improve the patient experience.
  • Delivering objectives per assigned goals by informing and influencing behavior of prescribers.
  • Positioning products and services using appropriate resources and being a subject matter expert on diabetes management.
  • Developing and implementing business plans that include goals, action plans, time frames and resources.
  • Acting with a sense of purpose and urgency, engaging in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Conveying information clearly, concisely and in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regularly tracking and reporting progress against plan, redirecting efforts as necessary.
  • Documenting daily, weekly and monthly activities utilizing a call reporting/tracking system.
  • Maintaining accountabilities for all samples and company resources in accordance with Division guidelines.
  • Working within quality guidelines established for compliance.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous sales experience within the healthcare industry with a successful sales track record. Previous sales experience in the diabetes category preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy, integrity, and ambition to succeed.
