About the Team & Business Line:

Fund Administration stands as the cornerstone of Citco's operations, renowned for its comprehensive alternative asset and accounting services. Our investment in cutting-edge technology and ongoing professional development ensures that our team members are equipped to provide an unparalleled client experience.

As an integral part of our Private Equity division, you will collaborate with industry-leading professionals to deliver top-tier services for complex fund structures that our clients rely on.



Your Role:

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger along with various subsidiary ledgers.
  • Prepare and scrutinize financial statements, including footnotes and partner capital statements.
  • Review and finalize allocations for limited partners and general partners.
  • Compile and assess trial balances and work paper products.
  • Examine capital activities related to funds, including capital calls, distributions, and transfers.
  • Calculate and verify fees, including management fees, administrative fees, and carried interest calculations.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of client outputs.
  • Engage with senior management to maintain strong relationships with multiple clients.
  • Provide clients with technical accounting expertise and industry insights.
  • Develop plans for onboarding new clients and managing transitions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Financial Statement, Tax, and Investor Relations teams.
  • Oversee and coordinate the external audit process.
  • Review partnership agreements and other relevant documents for private equity fund clients.
  • Implement fund structures within the accounting system.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as required.
  • Interpret and understand Limited Partnership agreements, focusing on distribution waterfall provisions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for distribution waterfall calculations across various investment strategies.
  • Document the calculation requirements associated with fund distribution waterfalls.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of funds to Citco Waterfall, our proprietary calculation engine.
  • Conduct analysis, design, setup, and testing of Excel-based calculation models.
  • Support global Fund Accounting teams with hypothetical and realized waterfall calculations.
  • Work with development staff to provide business requirements for enhancements to Citco Waterfall.
  • Participate in Business Development efforts to showcase Citco's waterfall technology.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure internal workflows align with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture for reporting and calculation models.
  • Contribute to discussions on operational processes and best practices; document and implement improvements.
  • Maintain a proactive customer service focus.
  • Manage risk assessment activities within the business.
  • Engage in the review and documentation of incidents and action plans.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to mitigate operational risks.
  • Support the first line by coordinating responses with key partners in risk management and compliance.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training development and participation across the organization.
  • Lead operational risk management meetings.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Onboard clients to Citco's technology platforms and become a subject matter expert.
  • Review and assist in interpreting fund legal documents.
  • Ensure accurate data capture for reporting and calculation modeling.
  • Understand complex fund structures and their accounting requirements.
  • Stay updated on best practices and client-specific agreements.
  • Analyze client financial data for integration into Citco platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development and testing of technology platforms.
  • Contribute to discussions on workflow processes and implement improvements.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives to effectively communicate Citco's onboarding and waterfall capabilities.


About You:

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA is an asset.
  • You have over 4 years of experience managing a team of Fund Accountants and Supervisors.
  • You bring 3-5 years of fund accounting experience from a Private Equity Fund or similar financial institution.
  • You are knowledgeable in US/Canadian GAAP and other accounting frameworks.
  • You have experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements.
  • You demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • You excel in project management with a keen attention to detail.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are proficient in Excel and Word; experience with SunGard Investran PE accounting platform is highly desirable.
  • You ideally have 6+ years in a risk/controls-based role within financial services at a supervisory or management level.
  • You are collaborative, innovative, and possess effective communication skills.
  • You have strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • You have experience with FIS Private Capital Suite preferred.
  • You have proven technical and report writing skills.
  • You maintain a high level of professionalism and can engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • You hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics; CPA or CFA preferred.
  • You have experience with Big 4 or large mid-size public accounting firms.
  • You have a background in servicing clients in the asset management industry.
  • You are a strong team leader and collaborator with excellent communication skills.
  • You take ownership and accountability for your work product.
  • You can manage multiple projects and stakeholders, prioritizing based on deadlines.
  • Fund Accounting and IT skills are a plus.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • You are willing to work extended hours as needed.
