About the Team & Business Line:

Our Fund Administration division is at the heart of Citco's operations, recognized for its expertise in alternative asset management and accounting services. We invest in cutting-edge technology and ongoing training to ensure our team is equipped to provide a superior client experience.

As a vital member of our Private Equity team, you will collaborate with industry leaders to deliver top-tier services for intricate fund structures that our clients rely on.



Your Role:

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger along with various sub-ledgers.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, including footnotes and partner capital statements.
  • Conduct reviews of limited partner and general partner allocations.
  • Prepare and analyze trial balances and related work papers.
  • Monitor capital activities related to funds, including capital calls, distributions, and transfers.
  • Calculate and review fees, including management fees, administrative fees, and carried interest calculations.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of client services.
  • Engage with senior management to maintain strong relationships with multiple clients.
  • Provide expert accounting knowledge and industry insights to clients.
  • Develop plans for onboarding new clients and managing transitions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Financial Statement, Tax, and Investor Relations teams.
  • Oversee and coordinate the external audit process.
  • Review partnership agreements and other relevant documents for private equity clients.
  • Implement fund structures within the accounting system.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as required.
  • Interpret and understand Limited Partnership agreements, particularly distribution waterfall provisions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for distribution waterfall calculations across various investment strategies.
  • Document calculation requirements associated with fund distribution waterfalls.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of funds to Citco Waterfall, our proprietary calculation engine.
  • Analyze, design, and test Excel-based calculation models.
  • Support global Fund Accounting teams with waterfall calculations.
  • Work with development teams to communicate business requirements for system enhancements.
  • Participate in Business Development efforts to showcase Citco's waterfall technology.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure internal workflows align with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture for reporting and calculations.
  • Contribute to discussions on operational processes and best practices; implement improvements.
  • Maintain a proactive customer focus at all times.
  • Manage risk activities within the business.
  • Engage in the review and oversight of incidents and risk assessments.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to mitigate operational risks.
  • Support the first line by coordinating responses with key partners in risk management and compliance.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training development and participation across the organization.
  • Lead operational risk management meetings.
  • Participate in various ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Onboard clients to Citco's technology platforms and become a subject matter expert.
  • Review and assist in interpreting fund legal documents.
  • Ensure accurate data capture for reporting and calculation modeling.
  • Understand complex fund structures and their accounting requirements.
  • Stay informed about best practices and client-specific agreements.
  • Prepare and analyze financial data for conversion into Citco platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development and testing of technology platforms.
  • Engage in discussions on workflow processes and implement improvements.
  • Participate in marketing efforts to effectively communicate Citco's onboarding and waterfall capabilities.


About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience managing a team of Fund Accountants and Supervisors.
  • 3-5 years of fund accounting experience in a Private Equity Fund or similar financial institution.
  • Familiarity with US/Canadian GAAP and other accounting frameworks.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and general ledgers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong project management abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word; experience with SunGard Investran is highly desirable.
  • 6+ years of experience in a risk/controls role in financial services is preferred.
  • Collaborative and innovative with effective communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with FIS Private Capital Suite is advantageous.
  • Technical writing skills are a plus.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics; CPA or CFA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a public accounting firm is preferred.
  • Experience in asset management client services is a plus.
  • Strong team leader and collaborator with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for work products.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Fund Accounting and IT skills are beneficial.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
