**Position Title**
- People & Culture Generalist**Position Summary**
- The People & Culture (P & C) Generalist supports the P & C advisors in various areas including talent acquisition, employee and labour relations, data and records management, and general operational support. This role is integral to the effective operations of the Employee and Labour Relations team and will provide information and support to supervisors, employees and faculty members.The P & C Generalist is expected to carry out assigned responsibilities with a high degree of independence, using judgement and critical thinking but also seeking guidance from members of the ELR and management teams when addressing complex situations.**Position Responsibilities**
- Assist in talent acquisition processes, including coordination of the recruitment process and managing the applicant tracking system.
- Coordinate the determination and classification process for the ELR team, maintaining and sending all required documentation and entering all updates into Banner (HRIS).
- Support employee and labour relations initiatives, including managing all administrative logistics, and tracking attendance.
- Manage data and records efficiently.
- Provide P&C operational support to the department, such as updating organizational charts, revising handbooks, conducting research, etc.
- Provide People & Culture information and assistance to supervisors, employees, and faculty members.
**Required Qualifications**
- A University Degree in Business/HR Management, the Social Sciences or a related field is required
- 3-5 years’ related human resource experience
- 2-3 years’ experience coordinating full-cycle recruitment processes including using an applicant tracking system
- Must have knowledge of relevant employment legislation including FOIPP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Skills in planning, organization, and prioritizing work to effectively meet deadlines and handle contingencies when they arise
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong attention for detail
- Demonstrated focus on proactive client service
