Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a dynamic Director of People & Culture, Operations and Service to join us in our journey to become an Employer of Choice. As a key member of the Polytechnic Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our HR operations and driving employee engagement initiatives that align with RDP’s 2030 strategic vision.

The Director is a senior leadership role within the People and Culture Division and the Polytechnic, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and service delivery functions within the People and Culture Division. This position is pivotal in ensuring efficient, effective, and high-quality client-centered service delivery, aligning with Red Deer Polytechnic’s strategic direction.Collaborate with the CHRO to develop and execute P&C strategies that support RDP’s institutional goals.Lead and inspire a team of HR professionals to deliver exceptional service and support to our faculty and staff.Ensure seamless execution of core P&C functions, including payroll, benefits administration, health and wellness, employee and labour relations, HR technology, analytics, and employee data management, onboarding, and off-boarding.Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the institution and externally, consistent with the institution’s policies, mission, vision, and values.Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the P&C function.Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to optimize people operations across the employee life cycle.Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.Create and implement multi-year strategies for knowledge management and HR analytics.Define and lead change management initiatives for P&C programs and tool implementations.Act as a strategic partner to other senior leaders, offering HR expertise to support institutional decision-making.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the full scope of HR operations and services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record in driving process improvements and automation initiatives.Strong knowledge of and experience applying legal and regulatory requirements related to HR operations.Strong understanding of payroll, benefits administration, health and wellness, employee and labour relations, HR technology, and analytics.Experience with policy creation, revision and implementation.Experience leading technology implementation and process digitization initiatives.CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits) designation an asset.PMP (Project Management Professional) designation an asset.Certificate in Conflict Resolution an asset.Red Deer Polytechnic offers a comprehensive benefits package including extended health and dental care through Blue Cross, access to a health spending account, pension plan, Employee & Family Assistance Program, generous vacation allotments, credit tuition waivers and opportunities for professional development funding.
