**Overview**:
The City of Richmond’s Arts, Culture & Heritage Department is looking for a customer service-oriented individual who is energetic, enthusiastic and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join the team at the Richmond Arts Centre. As an Arts Attendant, you will be working with a fun and dynamic team in a fast-paced and diverse Arts education facility. The successful applicant will conduct themselves with enthusiasm, respect and professionalism and will possess the ability to organize work and prioritize tasks in a busy environment, while exercising sound judgement when working with limited supervision.

**Examples of key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Providing exceptional customer service.
- Responding to inquiries and requests for assistance or information from registered patrons, general public and other City Staff.
- Assistance with program maintenance and communications with Artist Instructors.
- Assistance with inquiries and facility bookings related to Resident Art Groups.
- Working as part of a team as well as independently for programs and event projects.
- Providing set-up for A/V Equipment for programs and/or rental use.
- Providing clerical support, office administrative support, and program support for the Richmond Arts Centre.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external customers.
- Ability to prioritize demands, work well under pressure, and deal with stressful situations.
- Ability to provide effective customer service and to diffuse challenging situations in an effective manner.
- Ability to use basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to use office equipment such as printer, photocopier, scanner.
- Knowledge or willingness to be trained in the Xplor Recreation Registration System.
- Ability to set-up A/V Equipment for program or rental use.
- Satisfactory completion of Police Information Check.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Completion of high school diploma (Grade 12 or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year in office administration or customer service, or related work experience.
- Experience involving public contact in a Municipal environment is preferred, or equivalent combination of related training, education, and experience.
- Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
- Interest, enthusiasm or a background in arts (such as fine arts, visual arts, performing and media arts) is a large asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work is performed in an office and Arts Facility environment. May encounter a variety of customers and/or challenging situations. Some physical effort is required which involves moving, carrying, pushing and/or pulling equipment or furniture that may weigh up to 10 kgs (22 lbs).**Additional Information**:
