Our Burnaby head office is seeking an **Intermediate Accounting and Administration Assistant. **This role will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, including recordkeeping, analysis, reporting, and administrative duties.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accurately record monthly cash distributions
- Prepare and input semi-monthly payroll journal entries
- Calculate monthly GST remittance and ensure timely submissions
- Prepare detailed month-end accruals
- Accounts payable processing from data entry to payment processing
- Support Operations when purchasing vehicles and significant capital assets to ensure appropriate insurance coverage and proper record keeping
- Record deposits accurately and prepare weekly bank deposits
- Assist in the monthly closing process, conducting detailed analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Create report templates for monthly financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
- Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports for management, presenting financial data clearly and concisely.
- Provide analytical support to the financial controller, including statistical reporting and query generation.
- Participate in financial reporting activities, including audits and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Gather information to build spreadsheets, tables, charts, graphs, and reports summarizing financial information.
- Liaise with insurance providers regarding vehicle and asset insurance, ensuring comprehensive coverage and timely renewals.
- Maintain capital asset and lease schedules and related documents, updating information to reflect accurate asset valuations.
- Order breakroom coffee and stationery supplies.
- Conduct research projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 or more years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
- Experience working in accounting software packages (eg. Deltek Vantagepoint) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Power BI or similar would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $58,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
