Intermediate System Administrator

As an **Intermediate System Administrator **at Paladin Security, you will work closely with the Senior Systems Administrator to support the technical design, planning, and implementation of various enterprise systems. With infrastructure systems deployed across Canada and the United States, you will play a key role in ensuring their smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, you will serve as the main escalation point for Tier 2 support requests, assisting Paladin’s service desk with troubleshooting various hardware and software issues.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide operational support for the organization’s information systems.
- Implement backup procedures to restore files or systems.
- Track user requests and activities using a ticketing system.
- Establish and perform program maintenance based on company and vendor standards.
- Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and impacts on system availability.
- Monitor, maintain, and respond to network systems monitoring/Out of Band issues.
- Investigate cybersecurity alerts and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
- Liaise with the Help Desk to solve escalated issues.
- Interact with customers and staff at a technical level, as required.
- Stay up-to-date and acquire new skills, with an emphasis on technologies that add value to areas of direct responsibility.
- Other tasks as required to meet operational needs.

This role may require flexible hours to meet deliverables for other entities under the Paladin Group of Companies. Participation in an on-call schedule is also required.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Three years of experience in a System Administration position or operational team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in a related field or industry.
- Current Microsoft MCSA, Nutanix NCA, A+, and Network+ certifications.
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills necessary to deal with and resolve technical problems.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of command line, scripting, and automation.
- Experience with configuring and maintaining critical network and server infrastructure equipment.
- Understanding of the principles and implementations of Zero Trust Methodology.
- Previous experience in investigation and incident response.
- Strong oral, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and able to follow instructions well.

**Technical Skills**:
Experience and working knowledge in the following areas are crucial for success in this role:

- Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2022
- Active Directory in Hybrid mode with Azure AD
- Nutanix HCI
- Veeam Backup
- Microsoft Office 365 Cloud / Intune
- Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager
- Amazon AWS EC2, VPC, and LightSail
- MS Azure IaaS
- Blackberry Enterprise Server

**Salary**:$70,000 - $80,000
