**Overview of the Position**:
We are hiring a **Full-time Permanent Human Resources, Training & Development Manager** to join our team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, this leadership position champions a positive work atmosphere through the supervision and evaluation of all aspects of Human Resources, Training and development matters. The Human Resources &Training Development Manager is responsible for assessing Human resources and training needs, designing training programs and implementation. HR&TD manager will participate in various matters of Human Resources including handling employee relation matters, Disability Management, Return to work and WSIB, Health & Safety and Recruitment. Advises senior management in the developing of training and other HR matters.

**THE ROLE**:

- Provides guidance and support to managers and employees on a wide range of human resources issues such as employee relations, performance management, recruitment, Health and Safety, Disability management and return to work.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior leaders to gather input and understand specific training requirements.
- Manage training and development strategies.
- Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies.
- Assists in the recruitment for salaried staff, including interviews and preparation of offer letters and contracts of employment, when requested by the Associate Director of HR.
- Knowledge of labour/management principles, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights, Employment law Statutes and the Labour Relations Board process, collective agreements and union management relationships.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints, grievances, allegations of misconduct, internal investigations and participates in collective bargaining.
- Develop, enhance, and implement VITA’s policies and procedures that align with VITA’s goals and legal requirements.
- Assists VITA in achieving the organization’s 5-year strategic goals and KPIs.
- Provides advice and education on disability management and return to work.
- Advises on legal compliance to minimize the risk of legal or third-party action related to requirements under government regulations such as the Occupational Health and Safety, Workers Safety and Insurance, Human Rights, Accessibility, and Employment Standards Acts.
- Participates in MCCSS audits, providing reports and recommendations, as assigned.
- Completes all required mandatory training/education.
- Performs other related tasks as delegated by the Associate Director of HR.

**WHAT YOU BRING**:

- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Training & Development, Labour Relations or related field or other relevant post-secondary education.
- Minimum 3 years of training and development knowledge and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive Employee Relations, Human Resources experience, conducting internal investigations and experience working with unions in a non-profit environment.
- Minimum 3 years management experience.
- Excellent time management skills, to work under mínimal supervision, and to meet tight deadlines with demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize one’s own work.
- Strong verbal, written communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain co-operative and constructive working relationships with employer representatives, staff colleagues, and with other individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while maintaining strict confidentiality, and to work effectively in a consultative and collaborative environment.
- Driver’s license and own vehicle required.

**NICE TO HAVE**:

- Member of HRPA, and CHRP designation
- Experience working in healthcare or development disability sector an asset
