You will be joining the Toronto HR Team to support our business in various HR Matters. You will be exposed to multiple HR facets and will learn a lot, about HR, the railway industry and Alstom.

**_ Purpose of the job:_**
- The HR Intern plays a key administrative & operational role within the HR Team. This role provides flexible, responsive and proactive support to the HR Business Partners (HRBP). He/She will hold various HR administrative and operational responsibilities and will be successful in this role thanks to strong organization, planning, and communication skills._

**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- Supports the HRBP on specific HR events such as employee engagement initiatives: Manages logistics, including communications with suppliers, facilitators, and attendees._
- Provides day-to-day operational support for meeting arrangements and follow-up action plans._
- Maintains reliable information/data in our internal HRIS by updating and entering data._
- Maintains employee records._
- Manages pre-onboarding for new hires which includes completing background checks and coordinating medical visits._
- Participates in the new hire's onboarding & induction._

- Reliable, committed, and able to perform duties involving confidential and sensitive information. This role requires maintaining confidentiality at all times._
- Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify & resolve issues in a timely manner_
- Resourceful & possess strong interpersonal skills._
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, with employees, managers, and the HR team._
- Ability to prioritize, and work in a collaborative environment._
- Ability to effectively read and interpret information, and present numerical data in a resourceful manner._
