**Role**:
The Research and Policy Analyst is a member of the Office of the Chief Justice within the Alberta Court of Justice and is responsible for providing research, policy analysis, coordination and support relating to strategic policy, foresight/research within the Court. The Research and Policy Analyst will be required to, to assist in the development of quality strategic policy in areas within the Court's mandate, or cross-divisional projects in which the Court is participating. Responsibilities will include report writing, policy development, research, performance measurement, project management, intergovernmental negotiations and working in partnership with various cross-divisional, jurisdiction, ministry and community stakeholders.

The Research and Policy Analyst will support the work of the Alberta Court of Justice, including the advancement of the Alberta Court of Justice's policies and programs, as well as policy and research support more broadly, by providing current and accurate advice and recommendations based on situational awareness and analysis of trends, research, and opportunities. The Research and Policy Analyst will also support and assist other Branch sections on projects and initiatives by being quick to learn, having a positive approach, and willing to work in a topic area not part of the primary area of comfort or job duty.

The Research and Policy Analyst will be required to analyze issues, identify solutions, design processes, and manage projects to ensure the work produced is current and relevant. The role also requires the ability to perform all work with an integrated, systems approach to ensure the interests and priorities of the Court and of the Government of Alberta are effectively represented.

The Research and Policy Analyst must possess organizational awareness, corporate knowledge and understanding of the Courts, as well as the ability to build strong working relationships within the Alberta Court of Justice and Ministry and to be able to access key information and address issues. Critical thinking is required to identify issues and gaps when analyzing information and subsequently make or review recommendations and provide advice to Alberta Court of Justice Management, the Chief Justice and/or Chief and Council as required. The Research and Policy Analyst will also be required to maintain confidential information, have a strong political acumen and professional judgement in all aspects of their work.

You will have a strong ability to adapt to change, as well as a confidence in project and time management, which are required to meet deliverables in a timely manner.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**: University degree in a related field (e.g., Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, etc.) and a minimum of 4 years progressively responsible related experience, such as policy development, implementation, and evaluation; strategic analysis; project management; change management; performance measurement; and government structure and processes.
