**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Senior Records Officer, Enterprise Content Management Unit, the Information Management Policy Analyst is accountable for policy and program planning work associated with content management strategies and policies. The IM Policy Analyst collaborates closely with IT staff and service providers to ensure adherence to proper records keeping practices throughout the Department.

To be effective this position must understand various legislation and policy instruments (Policies, Standards, Guidelines, Procedures) and also understand the technology environment to ensure the effective implementation of these in day to day operations. To ensure business remains effective, client focused solutions must be deployed. This requires the position to have strong business analysis skills, to understand the current client situation, understand the root cause of any issues they have, and define creative ways to utilize available tools, such as M365, to maximize efficiency and minimize risk in current business processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and develop policy work related to content management including policy/standards/guidance in support of the department’s electronic content management systems
- Participate in the development and delivery of formal records and information management training to staff at all levels
- Support the Department IM program through the provision of consultation, advice and recommendations on IM policies, standards, directives and procedures
- Support, champion and execute Government of Alberta-wide IM initiatives with the department including but not limited to:

- Microsoft 365 deployment
- Collection of information for content inventories for Department program areas as required
- Implementation of Functional Classifications and GoA-wide retention schedules

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field (e.g. Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration) and four (4) years of progressively responsible related experience in:

- Leading and documenting multiple concurrent projects from initiation to final evaluation
- Preparing briefings, analysis/recommendation and training materials for a variety of stakeholders
- Providing information management consultation, advice and recommendations in alignment with related policy instruments and/or strategic direction
- Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education; or
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience
- Required Experience:
- Experience in information management including industry trends, tools, and approaches
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders
- Effective research, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Assets:
- Designation in Certified Records Manager, Certified Information Professional, Enterprise Content Management Master and/or Project Management Pro
