The AP Clerk is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable. This includes receiving, verifying, and processing invoices, communicating with vendors and internal staff about payables, and assisting with preparation of the cheque run including reconciling vendor statements. The position requires problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a high degree of attention to detail to process payables in accordance with company guidelines.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Review incoming invoices to determine backup and/or approval required and to correct department
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving backup
- Accurately review, code, and process non-purchase order vendor invoices
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
- Perform monthly statement reconciliations for vendors and assist with preparation of cheque run
- Investigate invoice or purchase order discrepancies and follow up to ensure corrections are received
- Compile backup for company credit card and gas card reconciliations
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries
- File invoices
- Count cash float daily
- Administrative duties including ordering office supplies, ordering coffee bar supplies, preparing outgoing mail, and providing backup phone support for incoming phone calls

**Requirements**:

- 1-2 years experience with accounts payable or general accounting
- Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills to work with vendors and internal team members to resolve invoicing issues
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently to prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
