This job opportunity is part of an integrated team tasked with implementing the goals of CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 and the sustainable development of energy resources in BC.

The team sits under the Regulatory Policy Section, within the Regulatory and Infrastructure Branch of the Oil and Gas Division of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI). The Branch leads the development of policies, legislation, regulations and programs in support of an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible upstream oil and gas sector. This includes ensuring that the policy and regulatory frameworks governing the sector aligns with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UN Declaration) and advances the Province’s broader reconciliation efforts as they relate to the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (Declaration Act), the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the Draft Principles that guide the Province of British Columbia’s (BC) Relationship with Indigenous Peoples.

The Policy Analyst researches, develops and evaluates policy that fosters sustainable natural gas development. This involves managing projects and programs that ensure regulatory effectiveness of the oil and gas sector in BC and, the review and revision of existing ministry programs or legislation.

**Job Requirements**:
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, natural resource management, environmental or applied science, or equivalent, and
- Two (2) years of related experience.
- **OR;** An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

**Related Experience must include all of the following**:

- Experience researching policy issues and/or conducting policy analysis in the natural resource sector.
- Experience managing projects and/or project components.
- Experience writing documents such as briefing notes and reports, discussion papers, fact sheets, correspondence, flow charts and other materials.
