All legal services to government respecting civil matters are delivered by or under the supervision of LSB lawyers. The branch serves the public interest by ensuring that:

- Administration of public affairs is in accordance with the law.
- Any legal risks associated with government and ministry operations are identified and where possible, reduced.
- Government is effectively represented before courts and tribunals.

The LSB mission is to provide excellent, innovative, timely, practical and cost effective legal and legislative services to the government of British Columbia in accordance with the rule of law.

LSB’s Articling Student Program employs articling students, summer students, and co-op students each who work with supervising lawyers in the branch and receive training in substantive areas of law. They also learn about time management and how to provide effective client service while upholding the standard of legal service expected of the Attorney General. Students practice in a variety of legal environments and receive ongoing support and mentorship. They are trusted with complicated, challenging work that develops their legal skills to take their place among the best lawyers in the profession.

The Legal Office Manager coordinates office administration functions for the Articling Student Program in LSB, including human resources, leave management, records management, facilities and asset management; and expert advice on Articling in BC to students, lawyers and staff within LSB. The Legal Office Manager serves as the critical link between Branch Management, ADAG’s office and the staff in their respective law groups.

**Job Requirements**:

- Secondary school graduation and a certificate or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Legal Office Administration, Office Administration, **OR**:

- An equivalent or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an administrative role in an office environment.
- Demonstrated experience with the interpretation of policy/legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with the provision of advice or guidance related to human resources management, administration, and operations.
- Experience working with senior management in the development and implementation of operational plans and priorities. At least two (2) years of supervisory experience including the delivery of a wide array of human resources services, recruitment, performance management, leave management, change management, training and records management.- Experience in a legal administrative role.
- A strong understanding of the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees, the BCGEU Master Agreement, Law Society of British Columbia Rules and Law Society of British Columbia Code of Professional Conduct. Experience in the creation or updating of operational and administrative processes and procedures.**About this Position**:
Currently, there is one (1) position available in Victoria.
