The Ministry of the Attorney General is responsible for government law reform, the administration of justice, and for providing legal services that ensure lawful public administration. As a branch within the Ministry of Justice, Court Services is responsible for supporting timely and equitable access to the court system.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who exemplifies the values of the BC Public Service to join our team as Administrator, Criminal Programs. The Administrator, Criminal Programs position plans, organizes and manages the daily administration support services within the criminal section of the registry. This includes scheduling and providing direction to the Justices of the Peace in the criminal section. The position is also responsible for supervising the criminal registry work unit and ensuring that technical procedures are carried out in accordance with Court Services policies and procedures. The Administrator also performs independent judicial and administrative duties as a Justice of the Peace within the registry.

**Job Requirements**:

- Secondary school graduation or equivalent, preferably supplemented by courses in business or public administration or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 1 year of experience working with Court related documentation and processes.
- Experience in giving functional daily guidance and feedback to colleagues.
- Experience using computers and software programs (e.g. Windows, Word, Excel, Civil and Criminal electronic tracking systems).
- Must have or be able to qualify for signing authority as Justice of the Peace of the Supreme Court of British Columbia and Justice of the Peace of the Provincial Court of British Columbia within 6 months of appointment to the position.

Preferred Experience:

- 2 years or more of supervisory experience.
- Experience working with Courtroom Technology and Courtroom Processes.
- Experience working with Justice Information System (JUSTIN) and/or Court Clerk Desktop (CCD).

- Must pass an enhanced security screening check.
- May be required to travel.
- Maybe be required to work flexible hours.
- May be required to work overtime.
- May be required to work in other areas of Court Services Branch.
