The Ministry of Finance's Internal Audit and Advisory Services (IAAS) supports Treasury Board by providing independent and objective assurance and advice to support governance, accountability, performance management practices and effective financial management.

IAAS covers a wide range of internal audit and consulting services for ministries, agencies, and Crown corporations, including:

- Advisory services to assist change by participating in initiatives and priorities, helping develop new programs and providing solutions to financial and business issues.
- Audits/reviews of programs and functions to help improve efficiency and ensure governance, management and control systems are operating effectively.
- Information technology reviews to address business, privacy and security risks and strengthen the government's overall information management process.

The **Audit Manager** coordinates audit projects and manages sensitive situations in an objective, professional and proficient manner. This key position reports to the Audit Director and is responsible for reviewing and monitoring work plans; understanding and synthesizing complex issues and findings from various project team members and providing advice and direction on difficult audit issues.

**Job Requirements**:
**EDUCATION**
- Completion of a recognized accounting designation Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) (formerly CA, CGA, CMA); **OR**:

- Other relevant education, including Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of 5 years of audit and/or advisory experience within the last 7 years (with preference given to performance or financial statement audit experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the last 5 years (project or otherwise).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

**WILLINGNESS**:

- Occasional travel outside the Victoria area is a requirement of this position.

**About this Position**:
There are currently 2 permanent opportunities. An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.

This position is excluded from union membership.

Over time through performance based in-range movement employees will have the opportunity to reach the maximum of their position’s salary band. The expecting starting salary for this position is $96,400 per annum.
