- The Audit and Investigations Branch (AIB) is responsible for carrying out independent compliance audits and investigations for the Ministry to provide assurance to government and taxpayers that financial accountabilities are in place, to detect and deter abuse of healthcare funding, and where necessary, recover overpayments.
- As Internal Audit Advisor, you will work collaboratively within the Audit and Investigation Branch as well as with other program areas within the ministry, and external agencies to conduct and/or coordinate internal audits and advisory services, including research and data analysis, reports, and recommendations to support effective financial management, governance, and accountability. The activities are guided by the annual audit plan, as well as corporate risk assessments.**Job Requirements**:

- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) **OR** a Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation; **OR** Other relevant education such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) **AND**
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience (within the last five years) in:

- Compliance, performance, or internal audit, AND
- Evaluating internal control systems and making recommendations to management for improvements.- One year or more of recent experience in:

- Experience managing multiple high priority projects involving diverse partners under high pressure and critical time constraints in an environment where priorities are constantly evolving and issues emerge and change rapidly.**Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following**:

- Experience using Excel with high proficiency at the intermediate level.
- One year or more of experience analyzing complex financial and/or business issues, and/or providing strategic policy/planning advice on complex issues to senior officials.
- Experience preparing and providing briefings, documents and presentations to senior officials.
- Experience in the BC Public Health Care Sector

**Proviso**:

- Willingness to conduct field work which may include occasional travel within the province.
- Willingness to work extended hours, as necessary.**About this Position**:
