| About the role

Reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer, the Director, Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Management will be responsible for the leadership and direction of the Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Management team. The Director, Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Management is a member of the Business Leadership Team (BLT) and works closely with other senior leaders within Payments Canada to deliver on its mandate. The Director, Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Management plays a critical role within the delivery pillar of the organization and is responsible for the management of critical partnerships that support both the delivery function and Payments Canada at large including but not limited to the Transform (CPO) and Run (CIO) functions. The delivery pillar is responsible for providing center of excellence services (COE) for Payments Canada.

| What you’ll do
- Support strategic alliances with external vendors that align with Payments Canada’s goals and objectives for program delivery and operations;
- Responsible for the management of strategic partnerships by defined objectives, timelines, established and repeatable, data-driven practices, along with the oversight of programs and operations that drives meaningful results;
- Oversee vendor relationships across the organization to ensure adherence to contractual agreements, Service Level Agreements and optimal utilization of resources;
- Continuous improvement of vendor risk management strategies to assess risk threats and implement mitigation strategies;
- Provide thought leadership to drive the team towards the delivery pillar’s strategic vision including facilitation of strategy development, the alignment of stakeholders, resource plans, and motivating team members to enable achievement of business outcomes. Strategic partners typically extend to operations, which this function will treat as a key internal customer and stakeholder.

| Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or related field;
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in vendor management, vendor risk management and/or strategic partnerships in the financial services industry;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role;
- Experience in providing guidance and reporting to senior management and maintain confidence when challenged;
- A firm understanding of Payments Canada’s operations;
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitating stakeholder dialogue;
- A positive track record building new teams, designing strategic plans and implementing improvement initiatives in a complex multi-stakeholder environment;
- Valid criminal records check or eligibility to obtain.

| Salary Range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $134,837 and $168,546.
