Job summary:
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Administration of the Faculty of Medicine of the Outaouais Campus of McGill University, the Administrative Officer is assigned to the Outaouais Campus. He/she responds to teaching and administrative needs in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Campus, while ensuring consistency with the mission and culture of the University. He also liaises between the Faculty of Medicine of Montreal and the Campus de l'Outaouais.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Lead the implementation of a component of the CGPE study program and the delivery of courses by ensuring the harmonization of activities with the Montreal Campus.- Support members of the McGill community of the Outaouais campus, students, clinician-teachers and staff in the execution and realization of their mandates and projects. Attend meetings, make recommendations and propose solutions to problems.- Collaborate with colleagues to provide and maintain a high level of administrative support in order to optimize academic teaching and clinical exposure (preclinical internships, clinics and Outaouais Campus Simulation Center).- Designs and implements operating methods and procedures at the Outaouais Campus in accordance with McGill University rules and policies. Process and analyze confidential data.- Train new employees on the policies, procedures and systems used.- Analyze, prioritize and respond to requests for information received from students, clinician-teachers and staff.- Provide support at meetings, events, conferences, symposia, mini-conferences.- Develop, implement and maintain filing systems (electronic records).- Coordinates liaison with internal Faculty units and external stakeholders.
- This position will be located at Campus Outaouais in Gatineau._
Other skills and abilities required:
Familiarity with medical terminology and academia (an asset); Excellent written and oral comprehension and communication skills in French; Autonomy in the execution of its mandates; Good ability to set priorities and identify emergencies; Professional attitude and ability to work in a team; Available for occasional trips (about once a year) to the Montreal Campus (training, meetings, etc.).
