Business Development Representative

Growcer is the Canadian leader in the design and manufacturing of modular hydroponic systems. We provide solutions that enable commercial food production in virtually any climate, thereby empowering businesses, entrepreneurs, communities, institutions, and conventional farmers to grow food locally throughout the year. As we enter our next phase of growth, we're seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team. Effective Growcer employees are tenacious, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are comfortable working on big-picture challenges with lots of autonomy. About the Role:
Reporting directly to Growcer’s Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in the implementation of our growth strategy by identifying and developing new business opportunities. This role is ideal for a self-starter, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited about making a substantial impact in a rapidly evolving company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: You will be responsible for initiating top-of-the-funnel lead generation activities to support our account executives in finding potential customers.
- Identifying and cultivating new relationship opportunities through a proactive and consultative approach, including outbound sales calls, networking, and direct marketing.
- Collaborating with the revenue team to extend our company’s reach and impact.
- Prospecting and Qualification: Your role will involve conducting discovery and qualification calls with prospects.
- Articulating our value proposition clearly and effectively to prospective clients, generating excitement and interest.
- Sales Activities Management: You will be in charge of maintaining and reporting on key metrics, and providing recommendations for new initiatives.
- Quota Achievement: Your primary goal is to consistently meet and exceed monthly quotas by generating qualified opportunities.
About You:
- You have a proven track record in business development or a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
- You are self-motivated and independent, able to take initiative, and quickly get up to speed with mínimal direction.
- You are not afraid to pick up the phone and initiate a conversation, with exceptional communication skills.
- You are adept at influencing others and getting them excited about new opportunities and ideas.
- You demonstrate resilience and adaptability, thriving in an environment of rapid change and growth.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field. Preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a business development role
- Experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment is a significant plus.
- Experience with Hubspot is preferred but not required.
