**The role**:
Based in our Kanata offices, a Business Development Representative (BDR) is a salesperson-in-training. For a year, you'll help Sales Account Executives (AE's) generate leads and sell dominKnow to new customers. After a year of apprenticeship, you'll begin to nurture leads of your own, and will take a generous commission for the relationships you help create and deals you close....which means that if you work hard, you can out-earn many of your peers.

We are looking for recent college grads that want to jump-start their career through enterprise sales and business development. Did you know that 40% of S&P 500 CEO's come from Sales & Marketing backgrounds? Previous sales business development experience in technology doesn't hurt, but it isn't a requirement.

As an SDR, you will develop critical sales skills from some of the industry’s top producers. The skills you learn here will differentiate you from others and help set you up for a prosperous career. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in continuing to blaze their career path in sales or marketing.

To be considered for this position, you currently live in the Ottawa area or are planning to relocate to Ottawa. You **must also have existing government authorization to live & work in Canada**. Applicants currently not living in Canada will not be considered.

**What you will be doing**:

- Following up on leads and conducting research to identify potential prospects within defined segments and/or territories
- Creating and prioritizing prospecting initiatives to generate new business qualified opportunities to build sales pipeline
- Setting appointments with dominKnow Sales AE’s to further engage with the best prospects
- Understanding the product functionality, positioning, and messaging by segment, region, and buying group
- Understanding the marketing and sales process at dominKnow and participate in activities to enhance
- Meeting and exceeding key revenue generation goals-completed appointments, qualified opportunities, and pipeline progression
- Identifying key decision makers within prospective accounts to determine budget and timeline
- Building and cultivating prospect relationships by initiating communication and conducting appropriate follow-up to move opportunities through the sales funnel
- Provide feedback to marketing and partner organizations on effective channels and messaging
