The CNA’s purpose is to lead and focus dialogue with and among key stakeholders concerning Canada’s nuclear future, namely to be, and to be seen and heard to be, the voice of the industry. To this end, CNA offers a range of services: regulatory and government affairs; research and policy development; advocacy to advance member-relevant interests in the political and public spheres and, programs and external and member communications to support the association’s objectives.
**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Vice President, Communications & Member Engagement, the Junior Business Development Representative will provide support and advice on all aspects of membership recruitment, engagement and retention. The Junior Business Development Representative acts as a liaison between the CNA organization and our members, ensuring our membership program is well-organized and meets the needs of our members. They will respond to program-related questions, support the recruitment of new members, administer, coordinate and support the association’s member services, member engagement and related programs and coordinate member-related meetings and events.
- Build, maintain, and keep up to date a database/CRM of current, past, and potential CNA members, including defining and implementing a taxonomy for categorization and sector mapping.
- Create and maintain a mapping of the Canadian and North American nuclear sectors, with the purpose of researching potential new members.
- Maintain and keep up to date member page on the CNA website.
- Under the direction of the VP, Communications & Member Engagement, conduct initial outreach or cold calls to build contacts and set up discussions with potential members.
- Manage administrative tasks related to membership, in coordination with the finance and administration teams.
- Provide support to the CNA Communications Team on activities related to member engagement, including the Member Update newsletter.
**Knowledge & Skills Required**:
- University degree or college diploma preferably in, business administration, public relations, marketing, event planning or related field
- Minimum 2-5 years experience providing front-line support to clients, guests, and/or members (i.e., in a member-based organization, association) - providing seamless and professional customer service support to members and prospective members, including guidance on membership benefits, billing, etc.
- Experience working with a CRM or database
- Previous experience in sustainability, associations, or similar roles would considered be an asset

**The following attributes are considered an asset**:
- Proven experience in program coordination and membership relations support in a non-profit or trade advocacy association
- Working knowledge of French
**Working Conditions**:
- Work is in a comfortable office and home office environment.
- May be expected to travel outside the Ottawa area to attend meetings with other institutions, conferences or training venues.
- During travel, working conditions will be restricted to safe and comfortable offices and/or tradeshow/conference venues. Travel would generally be one week or less to attend conferences or trainings, or to support project deliverables
- Some local, provincial, national or international travel between the CNA’s client sites or stakeholders may be required.
