We offer 24/7 crisis shelter transitional housing options on-site and, in the community, health and well-being support, training and skill development, and ongoing care once youth move into the community.

For over 40 years, Covenant House has been dedicated to its mission of serving youth on the street and to protect and safeguard all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love. Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.

**Duties, Responsibilities**
- Work with different teams including external organizations to identify potential mentors who can meet the needs of the youth and Covenant House.
- Promote the program both internally and externally to ensure strong high-quality mentors to meet the needs of youth in the program.
- Interview potential mentors to ensure they meet the needs of the youth and Covenant House.
- Onboard and offboard mentors as required (complete reference checks, police checks, orientations, role clarity, terminations and conduct exit interviews as needed).
- Provide support in building a strong foundation for youth and mentors following the prescribed process to ensure success of the mentorship program and mentor / mentee relationship.
- Maintain and update training manual for all mentors.
- Facilitate Quarterly Mentor Trainings
- Provide information sessions for staff and youth highlighting key benefits and the importance of the mentorship program.
- Review policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure they are current and that mentors are aware of them.
- Develop a relationship with the youth to be matched so that an appropriate mentor can be found.
- Ensure confidentiality of participant information.
- Organize mentor roundtables on a bi-monthly basis to provide extended supports to mentors.
- Schedule monthly socials and activities for mentors and mentees.
- Maintaining Volunteer Database, ETO and Praesidium Systems
- Collect statistics on the program monthly.
- Complete reports and proposals as required.
- Regularly seek input from program staff, managers, youth and mentors to ensure the program can achieve its objectives in an ever-changing environment.
- Conduct quarterly surveys to ensure mentor & mentee satisfaction
- Support volunteer recognition events.
- Continuously search, create, and develop innovative ways to deliver mentoring to youth with diverse needs.
- Additional duties as required.

**Qualifications, Skills**:

- College or University degree or diploma in Child and Youth Work or Bachelor of Social Work.
- Minimum three years experience in a shelter or residential setting or at least 1 year experience as a front-line worker or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as required.
