**Marketing and Communications Manager**
**Waterloo, Ontario**
The Marketing and Communications Manager provides leadership in developing and supporting the implementation of marketing and communication strategies within Karis Disability Services, among external and internal audiences. Externally, they are responsible for building strong brand equity and preference with key external audiences including service users, families, prospective employees, funders, donors, partners, volunteers and concerned community members. Internally, they are responsible for equipping leaders within the organization with strategies, systems and tools that contribute to building brand equity and alignment internally and create an environment for effective marketing and communications within the organization.
**The Marketing and Communications Manager embraces the Christian Faith Foundation of the organization, ensures the Christian ethos and the Values, Vision and Mission permeate their job responsibilities, and personally commits to the expectations as outlined in the Statement of Faith.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and lead brand strategic and annual operating plans that grow brand equity at the organizational and district levels toward the achievement of the outcomes in the Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with applicable departments and colleagues, and leverage all mediums such as digital, advertising, print and community-based engagement opportunities.
- Create and lead opportunities to bring diverse voices around the table to collaborate on marketing needs and approaches and co-create opportunities, including advising, guiding, and supporting marketing initiatives within communities.
- Create and lead winning digital marketing campaigns that achieve business objectives, choosing, and building productive relationships with, high-impact agencies that deliver results.
- Provide internal expertise on marketing and communications, constantly researching and staying abreast of best practices.
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and performance management for assigned roles reporting to this position.
- Equip the Marketing team to create and deliver on-brand, high-impact website, social media, print, digital and advertising resources, with a laser focus on tracking impact and data-informed decision-making.
- Lead Marketing and Communications team operations, priorities and process excellence to deliver brand plans that achieve required outcomes, balancing resource allocation to internal Marketing Services (internal departments) support needs.
- Oversee and manage brand compliance internally and externally.
- Lead brand research, insights and metrics reporting to inform brand plans and strategies.
- As the organization’s lead brand champion, inspire and equip internal teams to understand and value the brand, building productive, collaborative relationships with managers across departments to understand and support their marketing needs.
- Deliver presentations and public speaking to support Karis Disability Services.
- Manage the marketing department budget, expenses, and tracking.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
- Additional certification in a related field like Social Media, Digital Marketing or Media Management is considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience leading and developing a marketing team to create and deliver winning strategies and campaigns that drive brand growth.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and communications best practices, and in leading marketing, communications, public relations and community engagement programs with measured results.
- Proficient interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills, with demonstrated ability to build fruitful, collaborative partnerships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to persuade, instruct and provide interpretations internally and externally.
- Strong knowledge of research best practices, including brand research, and experience leading research projects.
- Proven data analytic skills, problem-solving skills and data-informed decision-making.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Canva, Adobe and Photoshop, with web design tools considered an asset.
