**This is a 14-Month Contract position.**
The Marketing Manager contributes to the success of the Sun Life Global Investments business unit objectives by collaboratively managing the creation and delivery of integrated marketing plans with a core focus on events and sponsorships. This role is also responsible for maintaining relationships between internal business teams, the writing and campaign management team, product, creative services and digital team.
The Marketing Manager will work closely with internal business partners to understand their business drivers and emerging needs in order to propose responsive marketing solutions. The Manager will bring to the business partnerships an understanding of the growing role that digital marketing, branding and event marketing play in the integrated marketing equation and will know how to communicate to internal partners how these marketing tactics help the business meet their objectives.
**What will you do?**
- Lead events in the development, management and execution of innovative and creative meetings and special events for Sun Life Global Investments.
- Lead and engage stakeholders and sponsors in providing creative and technical support for meetings and events that align with their marketing and business strategy and ensuring that meetings are executed; creatively, efficiently, and on time within established budgets.
- Develop and present post-event results for senior leaders in partnership with Sales Enablement and Business Analytics.
- Foster relationships with internal business partners and seek knowledge to understand the business strategies, drivers, plans and issues.
- Maintain relationships with external marketing associations, agencies and vendors to stay current on marketing trends and to facilitate potential future engagements with external suppliers.
- Provide input into internal business partners' annual and quarterly marketing plans by providing ideas and marketing solutions that align current marketing approaches with advisor needs.
- Help shape a SLGI’s outward image through brand management and event oversight. Uncover consumer insights and deliver innovative marketing programs that align with SLGI’s brand values and image.
- Ensure proposed marketing tactics will deliver on the marketing plan objectives and have clear measures of success
- Proactively identify ways for the business to gain competitive advantage through events and sponsorships
- Provide cost estimates and timelines for marketing projects based on proposed tactics
- Monitor and report on business partners' overall marketing portfolio and budget to ensure they get the best value for their marketing spend
- Create marketing plans for centrally driven initiatives, looking for ways to create engaging, interactive experiences for consumers that set us apart from competitors
- Think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up your sleeves to help implement integrated and online marketing programs from conception through to completion
- Manage a team of marketing professional(s) - This includes assigning projects that align with an individual’s current capabilities and future growth; providing direction, coaching and support to ensure project completion; look for development and career opportunities, be a point of escalation; monitor progress and provide recognition all in an effort to engage and retain talent. As well as create a positive environment to enable the attraction of key talent to the area.
- Champion and enforce relevant brand standards and positioning
- Establish and maintain effective two-way communication with key stakeholders where appropriate including distribution partners, sales managers, advisors, sales directors, and head office staff

- Minimum of five year's progressive marketing experience involving a variety of marketing mediums including event marketing, e-marketing, traditional and social media, advertising, print collateral,
