Why is this role important?
- The Health Human Resources (HHR) program of work at CIHI is evolving to better meet HHR planning and policy needs, health system performance and overall population health. This growth includes helping to stand up an HHR Centre of Excellence (CoE) to enable access to more and better data on the health workforce and support health workforce planning capacity, improving Canada’s health system as a whole, and driving forward health system transformation. Work will support helping to stand up the CoE.
- Key activities include supporting hosting a national HHR forum for Canada, stakeholder engagement, internal and external consultation, presentations, briefing notes, research, environmental scanning, and other deliverables as required.
- What you'll do
- 1. Supports the planning and execution of projects to support stand up of an HHR CoE.
- 2. Participates in the planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of education and capacity-building material (such as presentations, workshops, forums, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders involved in the HHR CoE
- 3. Contributes to briefing notes and reports, as required. Prepares and delivers presentations in support of the HHR CoE and its strategic directions and priorities.
- 4. Monitors the health information and digital health landscape to identify emerging HHR issues and opportunities.
- 5. Collaborates across CIHI HHR teams, branches, and divisions, as required, and ensures coordination and continuity of HHR related products.
- 6. Develops and produces promotional materials and communication tools.
- 7. Attends conferences and meetings as required.
- What you'll bring to the table
- University degree in a health sciences or other discipline.
- Three to five years’ experience working with health information systems.
- Conceptual understanding of health, the health care system, as well as a sound knowledge of health information and its uses for policy development, planning, management and evaluation purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, results oriented, a critical thinker, adaptable, innovative and flexible.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision; values a team approach.
- Training or experience in adult learning would be an asset.
- Fluency in English required, bilingualism in English and French an asset.
- Ability to fulfil travel requirements.
