**Job Details**:
**Position Title**: Student Liaison Officer

**Status**: Temporary Part-Time Support (5 month contract)

**Hours**: 24

**Faculty/Department**: Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences

**Campus/Location**:Lakeshore

**Salary**: $18.63 - $28.66

**What you will do**:

- Assist the Program Assistant with student enrollment and registration duties
- Coordinate with the Program Assistant to plan and facilitate student orientation and graduation
- Liaise with ELC students and other areas of the college community to connect students with information, supports, events, workshops, etc.
- Maintain common ELC areas, including the bulletin board and conference and staff rooms
- Assist with the investigation, development, and coordination of student volunteering, contest, workshop, and external speaker opportunities for EAP students
- Liaise with ELC students to gather feedback on the ELC
- Coordinate social media sites as well as other technologies to promote a community within the ELC and promote the ELC externally in partnership with the FLAS Digital Marketing Assistant
- Assist with the updating of materials, data management, and planning of activities, events and trips for the SLP

**Education**:
**Experience/Skills**:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the post-secondary environment and with international students
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills that support the timely, efficient, and effective completion of tasks

The following would be considered strong assets:

- Experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) / English for Academic Purposes (EAP) / Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and event management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students
- Ability to work effectively in small teams
- Experience managing social media accounts, such as Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
