We are currently seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator who can be nice, will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey. The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is a member of our Finance team, reporting directly to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator for Roots will be responsible for the following:

- Responsible for administrative changes/updates in system for payroll and benefits.
- Back for Payroll and Benefits Specialist which includes timely and accurate full-cycle processing of payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Administration of clothing allowance, gift cards, etc. to employees.
- Ensure process documentation is updated for benefit administration.
- Liaison with employees on benefit and payroll inquiries.
- Liaison with HR, Finance and other departments on day-to-day queries.
- Maintains and updates employee information in both payroll system and benefit provider sites.
- Complete benefit enrollments for new hires and coordinate open enrollments done in every two years.
- Support the efforts of the Manager, Payroll & Benefits in day-to-day payroll functions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party benefit providers and ensure timely correspondence.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Support process improvement initiatives
- Have an understanding on the structure of the company to be able to provide system-based solutions.
- Other duties as required.
- University degree or College diploma is preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll experience processing and administering benefits or similar role.
- Dayforce experience is an asset.
- Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Advanced computer skills including experience with Ceridian Dayforce & Microsoft Office, especially Excel vlookups and pivot table.
- Knowledge and understanding of US benefits.
- Creative aptitude with ability to think outside the box when making recommendations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excel in team environment and ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong customer service attitude along with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
