Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of employee benefits, including group insurance, pension, and GRSP contributions. The successful candidate will process weekly payrolls, manage employee claims, and maintain benefit coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payrolls and manage employee claims
  • Maintain benefit coverage and ensure accurate premium payments
  • Work with WSIB coordinator, ERC, and plant to establish modified work for returning disability claimants
  • Issue benefits termination letters and update Groupnet system
  • Prepare monthly premium statements and reconcile paid insurance premiums
  • Import hours from report writer to calculate pension/GRSP contributions and requisition cheques
  • Reconcile paid RSP contributions and process pension/RSP information for retiring and terminating employees
  • Upload taxable benefit arrears and provide notification to providers and payroll administrators
  • Deal with inquiries and correspondence in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Train and assist payroll administrators as required
  • Import, balance, and distribute cost reports weekly as required
