Our Human Resources team is currently recruiting for a temporary **Human Resources Coordinator** located in **Calgary **to cover a 12 month maternity leave. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will use your knowledge of HR processes to assist the department in day to day administrative functions.

**Responsibilities**:
**Recruitment and Onboarding**:

- Prepare and distribute offer letters, employment contracts, and other onboarding documents.
- Facilitate the onboarding process by coordinating new hire orientation and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.

**Employee Relations and Support**:

- Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and assist with organizing company events, training sessions, and team-building activities.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR databases are up-to-date.

**HR Administration**:

- Maintain employee files and records in both electronic and physical formats.
- Assist in preparing HR reports, including employee turnover, recruitment metrics, and other key HR data.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by assisting with audits, record-keeping, and policy updates.
- Help administer employee benefit programs by answering employee questions, assisting with benefits enrollment, and processing benefits paperwork.
- Coordinate the short term and long term disability process.

**Compliance and Documentation**:

- Ensure compliance with federal labour laws and HR best practices.
- Assist with the preparation and updating of HR policies and procedures.

**HR Project Support**:

- Assist in the planning and execution of HR projects such as employee engagement surveys, performance reviews, annual compensation cycle, and training and development programs.
- Provide support in various employee programs like wellness initiatives and diversity and inclusion efforts.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in HR or administrative roles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices.
- Experience in coordinating employee events or HR programs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of benefits administration is a plus.
