Divert NS is currently seeking a motivated, analytical, and organized professional to join their team. As the Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in communicating initiatives that drive Divert NS’ mission of improving Nova Scotia’s environment, economy, and quality of life through waste diversion and reduction. **About the Position**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage Divert NS social media accounts by creating content, overseeing engagement, and analyzing metrics.
- Maintain Divert NS website, including drafting new content and implementing changes to content, appearance, and layout.
- Support communications initiatives such as coordinating events, assisting with the development of marketing campaigns, and nurturing stakeholder relations.
- Assist with the development and design of digital and printed corporate materials such as brochures, resource guides, signage, data visualizations, and presentations.
- Maintain stakeholder contact database and support the development and implementation of stakeholder outreach strategies.
**Qualifications**
- Relevant college or university degree with one to four years’ experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
- Experience in social media marketing and website content management.
- Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal.
- Experience with graphic design and editing programs, ideally Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with digital communications tools and customer relationship management software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and problem-solve on the spot.
- Collaborative, team player with ability and desire to interact with people across all job levels.
- A background in environmental studies would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
