**Divert NS** is a not-for-profit based in Truro, NS, focused on supporting the province to recycle and live in more sustainable ways. Through a combination of stewardship programs and multiple initiatives, they provide new opportunities and approaches to waste diversion and reduction.

On their behalf, we are seeking a Communications Officer to join their head office team. Reporting to the Manager of Communications, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance in the ongoing activities and goals of the Communications department as it implements internal and external communications initiatives for all stakeholders and audiences relating to waste diversion and the culture of recycling in Nova Scotia.

**What qualities are needed in this role?**

In this role, you will create, edit and research content for Divert NS social media channels and website. You will also assist with various initiatives like planning events and managing internal communications and media relations.

Ideally, you have a university degree with one to four years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations. A background in environmental activities and working with not-for-profits is an asset.

The salary range for this role is $49,416 to $59,180.
