The Food Bank has an immediate opening for a hard-working, creative, and passionate **Digital Marketing Specialist** to join our team. This role will help build The Food Bank of Waterloo Region’s brand and profile to contribute to the organization’s advocacy and revenue goals.

**The Position**

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, this position will work closely with the Communications Specialist - Writer, Social Media Coordinator, as well as project team leads. The Digital Marketing Specialist will contribute to building The Food Bank of Waterloo Region’s brand and profile, engage new and existing supporters and contribute to the organizations ability to meet its revenue and advocacy goals. This position will play an important role in contributing to the engagement strategy and many other major projects and initiatives.

The short-term focus of this role will change from year to year, as priorities of The Food Bank change, and will be detailed in the annual work plan.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Develop and implement digital strategies that align with the organizational strategic initiatives to increase engagement.
- Build awareness of The Food Bank’s brand that supports the organization’s fundraising strategy using tools such as The Food Bank’s website, social media channels, advertising, and earned media.
- Creates content through shooting and editing of photography, video, gifs, animation, etc., that is rooted in strategy and insights, builds relevance and engagement, and delivers results.
- Identifies and implements a solution to manage the storage and tagging of digital assets
- Website maintenance including updates, SEO, and functionality.
- Research emerging trends, techniques, and tools.
- Track web analytics, make recommendations and implement changes to drive traffic and improve conversion rates
- Support all marketing and communications initiatives ensuring consistency in brand, approach, look and feel of all organizational materials.
- Support the events team by producing content for special events such as video, event program products, and promotional material.
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies.
- Manage relationships with external vendors in support of The Food Banks communication and marketing strategy, including outsourced graphic designer.
- Manage digital traffic.
- Create, proofread, edit, and update marketing materials.
- Coordinate marketing activities for events.
- Research and stay up to date on digital media developments, market, and industry trends.
- Backup Social Media Coordinator.
- Support annual marketing & communications plan.

**Qualifications**

Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a digital marketing role
- Experience with social media, website analytics and reporting, Search Engine Optimization, eblast, etc.
- Excellent experience with visual media creation, graphic design, video and editing software
- Proficiency with: Adobe Suite, WordPress, Microsoft® Office, Google Apps, common marketing automation tools, SEO tools, donor management software (such as Raiser’s Edge or equivalent)

Education
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, graphic design or equivalent
- Google Analytics certification is an asset
