**Why this role is significant**
As the Group Sales and Events Manager, you play a significant role in ensuring the smooth execution of all group bookings and events. You will handle all incoming inquiries, and guide guests through the sales experience. You bring outstanding customer service skills, a deep understanding of guest needs and preferences, and a passion for optimizing revenue while showcasing Brentwood Bay Resort's offerings.
**A day in the life**
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive sales efforts, networking, and relationship building.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Conduct site tours and sales meetings with prospective clients.
- Lead weekly BEO meetings to ensure executing teams have all necessary information and are clear on event details.
- Manage all buy-out sales closely, serving as the main point of guest contact during event setup.
- Guide guests through the experience, offering suggestions and options to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Rooms and Food and Beverage departments to provide rate quotes for rooms, meeting spaces, activities, and catering.
- Respond promptly to inquiries related to group dinners, meetings, weddings, conferences, executive retreats, and private parties.
- Create Banquet Event Orders, Group Summaries, and internal correspondence to ensure seamless event execution.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items and beverage lists.
- Work with the kitchen to develop custom menus for each event as needed.
- Prepare proposals and contracts for all events.
- Supervise furniture moving and setup for large events.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all event details.
- Follow up with guests after events to ensure satisfaction with provided services.
**What you bring to the team**
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales and event management within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional time management, and organizational skills.
- You can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent.
- You are highly proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and you are familiar with project management software and tools, such as Asana.
- You are available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
