We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager. This position is a great fit for those interested in advancing state-of-the-art cleantech solutions while working closely with customers, executives, and our technical team.

Here is what the role entails:
  • Develop a deep understanding of Saltworks solutions, market positioning and strategy while also contributing feedback and insights to our future.
  • Drive outbound engagement of targeted customers to grow the company's pipeline and sales.
  • Build relationships and technical trust with key customers, with support from our highly capable technical team.
  • Engage prospects to understand their needs, drivers for implementation, and how we would position our differentiated solutions to achieve their objective.
  • Work with our business development team to deliver high-quality technical proposals.
  • Deliver customer service excellence through responsiveness, thoroughness, and quality communication.
  • Represent Saltworks through in-person customer meetings, lunch & learns, networking events, and at conferences.
You will be a great fit if you have:
  • 5+ years relevant experience in industrial sales or business development with an engineering or science background and base knowledge of inorganic chemistry (i.e. Chemistry 101 course background).
  • Proven track record of driving sales with high conversion rates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in meeting new people and developing new relationships.
  • Interest in helping customers solve complex problems through the use of science and technology while collaborating with experts.
  • Ability to process substantial amounts of information or lack of information while working with a team to develop a solution that meets the customer's objectives.
  • Analytical and math skills to support accurate costing and pricing models.
  • High energy and are intrinsically motivated to drive end-to-end customer acquisition.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple contact engagements.
  • Ability to be the voice of the customer in developing proposals and presentations.
  • Experience with contracts and understanding the risks to the company during negotiations.
  • Insightfulness to collect market intelligence and translate into actionable sales strategies.
  • Strong English writing skills to concisely summarize key messages.
  • Excellent English verbal communication: ask questions and active listening.
  • Enjoy traveling to connect with customers and network at industry functions.
