About the Opportunity

The At the Elbow Lead provides technical oversight and subject matter expertise and day-to-day supervision and support of the Clinical implementation and maintenance activities related to specific application areas. The individual will lead the technical implementation of the build/configuration and changes/enhancements for assigned clinical applications in collaborative partnership with other IM/IT Leads and Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently addresses issues and designs decisions of moderate complexity with little or no supervision
  • Delivers clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to clinical and non-clinical applications across the organization
  • Leads the analysis, resolution of issue, communication of resolution to affected users
  • Leads testing activities and training activities including creation of educational documentation and support to end users
  • Reports to an IM/IT Manager and oversees a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of initiatives and programs throughout the province

About You

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in clinical application implementation and leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a health-related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Clinical Application implementation, with previous Lead experience preferred
  • Project Management and change management certification would be considered an asset
  • Experience supporting clinical applications systems and related services in a complex healthcare organizational environment
  • Proficiency in various programming and clinical application reporting tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
  • Experience in data analytics and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate NSH vision, mission and values
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders and highly self-motivated, directed and change-oriented
  • Ability to analyze highly complex systems and workflows and conceptualize, plan, organize, coordinate and manage the work of a major program or function within the department
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and lead and direct software upgrades
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong working relationships
  • Strong communication skills-written and oral and the ability to present in large groups
  • Ability to demonstrate project management, customer service and support skills, and ability to escalate and contribute to resolving issues accordingly
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint

Hours and Compensation:

  • Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 18 months with possibility of extension (assignment length subject to change)
  • Flexible location across Nova Scotia, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work
  • Competitive hourly rate of $48.73
