Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Moody Hall Enhanced Care in Bedford, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.
About the Opportunity:
- Prepare and administer individual and group physical therapy programs to residents.
- Assist residents with therapeutic intervention programs, such as range of motion, progressive resistive and stretching, ADLs.
- Assist residents in ambulation, with or without an ambulatory aid, under the direction of the Physiotherapist.
- Document resident care and progress according to policy and procedures.
- Maintain equipment inventory and assist with department audits, cleaning and inspections.
About You:
- You have a Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma from an approved college or a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.
- U-first training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in a long-term care environment would also be considered an asset.
- You have knowledge of basic resident care practices and principles.
