About the Opportunity

The At the Elbow Lead plays a critical role in the technical implementation and maintenance of clinical applications across Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. This position requires a strong understanding of healthcare industry requirements and the ability to lead technical implementation and maintenance activities related to specific application areas.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical application implementation, with previous lead experience preferred. Project management and change management certification would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillset, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

The At the Elbow Lead will be responsible for leading technical implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical applications, as well as providing subject matter expertise and day-to-day supervision and support to the clinical implementation and maintenance activities. This includes leading the analysis, resolution of issues, communication of resolution to affected users, and leading testing activities and training activities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare industry requirements, including knowledge of clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments. They will also have experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units and be able to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with a salary of $50.19 hourly. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a health-related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical application implementation, with previous lead experience preferred
  • Project management and change management certification would be considered an asset
  • Experience supporting clinical applications systems and related services in a complex healthcare organizational environment
  • Proficiency in various programming and clinical application reporting tools
  • Proficient knowledge of healthcare industry requirements, including knowledge of clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillset, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and influencing skills
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders
