Bilingual Revisor, Administrative Translation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Revisor, Administrative Translation Specialist to join our team at McCarthy Tétrault. As a key member of our national translation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities- Provide translation services for firm-wide internal and external communications, including documents, reports, and marketing materials.
- Proofread, revise, and edit translated documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Capture the essence of our firm's messages and convey them in a clear and compelling manner to our target audience.
- Collaborate with the Administrative Translation Director, Manager, and team to develop and implement effective translation strategies.
- Validate and ensure the relevance and compellingness of our French external communications for our clients and stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Administrative Translation and Clients & Markets teams to develop projects and priorities that support the firm's strategy.
- Offer proactive suggestions for continuous process improvement and advance the most positive and inclusive language in all communications.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including partners, C-level executives, directors, and managers, to discuss and reach consensus on translation projects.
- Provide sound specialized advice to the broader Clients & Markets team, management, and coworkers, and collaborate in the ongoing development of the McT Glossary.
- Completed degree in translation required; additional education in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is a strong asset.
- Certified translator (OTTIAQ member).
- At least 10 years of experience as a revisor in a professional services environment; experience in a law firm is a significant asset.
- Fully bilingual with strong written and verbal business communication skills in both French and English.
- Experience with translation management tools, translation assistants, and AI translation tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills (in French and English).
- Thorough understanding of the dynamics of a fast-paced environment and of the organizational structure of professional services firms.
- Excellent technology and forward-thinking skills.
- Solutions-oriented mindset, tactfulness, and positive approach to change.
- Superior attention to detail and strong professional writing skills (in French and English), and ability and drive to deliver a first-class product.
- Ability to manage priorities, negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, work under pressure, and adhere to challenging deadlines.
- Availability to work outside business hours (nights and weekends) as needed, and to be working from the office, as needed by projects and priorities.
