The Translator is tasked with delivering comprehensive English to French translation services to meet the increasing demand for French communication within The Co-operators group of companies. This role encompasses translation and editing, minimizing the need for external translation services.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate diverse written communications from English to French, often under tight deadlines, while preserving the content, context, and style of the original material. Regular audits will be conducted on all work to ensure quality and consistency. Research a broad range of terminology and language-specific phrases to ensure accurate translations. Engage in team discussions regarding precise terminology. Occasionally proofread, review, and edit work produced by external translators for accuracy and consistency, making necessary adjustments. Collaborate with internal clients to clarify details and ensure the seamless delivery of the final product according to their specifications. Stay updated with industry tools and resources utilized for translation services.Qualifications for Success:

A university degree in translation or a related field. 3 - 4 years of experience as a translator in a business environment, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector. Professional Translation accreditation is advantageous. Fluency in both English and French. Familiarity with translation support software and resources, including SDL Trados Studio and SDL MultiTerm, is preferred. Proficiency in both English and French is crucial for the primary duties of this role, including servicing and communicating with predominantly anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams.Important Considerations:
