Your Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled French to English Translator to join our Translation and Linguistic Services team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Translating various Accounting and Assurance documents, including financial reports and tax articles;
  • Providing linguistic advice and conducting terminology research to ensure consistent quality of translations;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality translations and meet client expectations;
  • Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned.

We're seeking a professional who embodies BDO's core values of integrity, respect, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Self-sufficient and resourceful, with excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in computer-assisted translation software (SDL Trados Studio) and terminology databases;
  • Bilingual (French and English, both written and spoken);
  • Knowledgeable about Accounting and Assurance terminology currently used by members of the profession and CPA Canada;
  • A team player with a strong emphasis on client service and collaboration.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Translation;
  • Practical translation experience (minimum of five years' experience required), in the financial or accounting sector (an asset);
  • Project management skills;
  • Strong knowledge of computer-assisted translation software and terminology databases;
  • Bilingual (French and English, both written and spoken);
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Assurance terminology currently used by members of the profession and CPA Canada (an asset).
