POSITION PURPOSE

  • IO's Loan Program is established to provide lowcost construction and longterm financing for infrastructure projects to municipalities, affordable housing providers, notforprofit longterm care providers, and certain other eligible borrower sectors. Since inception, the Loan Program has supported over $19 Billion in project value across the province of Ontario.

What You Will Do:

  • Function as the first point of contact for prospective and existing borrowers regarding specific financing requests by effectively explaining the IO loan program borrower and project eligibility requirements to determine feasibility of loan request
  • Effectively explain IO's loan process, collect financial and other information as required from clients for underwriting analysis and conduct first review of such information ensuring completeness and responsiveness to IO loan program and underwriting needs.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, credit, and loan operations to ensure timely progress of the loan request from intake to approval and funding/rejection of loan request.
  • Partnering with underwriting and credit teams to identify and understand key issues and concerns arising from client financials, IO security requirements, and other issues succinctly and accurately.
  • Provide the client with financing agreements following approval of loan requests and review the terms and conditions in pursuit of client acceptance and execution.
  • Assist loan operations and communicate with clients in order to satisfy financing conditions as authorized to complete financing transactions.
  • Keep up to date with best lending practices, emerging issues and trends which may impact the IO loans program and identify opportunities for marketing of existing or potential new products to eligible borrower sectors.
  • Assist with development of marketing materials, such as loan profiles and promotional documentation for clients and other stakeholders.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows as required to promote the IO loan program and network with clients.
  • Produce reports and perform standard financial analysis, develop documentation, and other ad hoc requests under the direction of the Vice-President.
  • Coordinate and assist the Loan Operations and Communications team to distribute mass client communication documents regularly throughout the year
  • Act as back up in the absence of the Senior Relationship Manager to field inquiries and/or transfer the individual inquiry to the appropriate individual on the team.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience providing clientfocused solutions within a financial institution, investment, municipality, or infrastructure development area of practice.
  • Experience developing commercial loan solutions and advanced knowledge of financial underwriting principles, commercial lending practices, and municipal bylaw authorization processes.
  • Knowledge of municipal infrastructure financing processes and public sector operations and considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of project financing models and principles is an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills to research, synthesize, and analyze financial data and other information
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships and deal effectively with external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
