Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and manage the volunteer program in alignment with organization's mission, values, policies, and industry standards.
  • Recruit, engage, and support volunteers for Community Services programs.
  • Collaborate with program managers to match volunteers with suitable opportunities.
  • Implement volunteer training, orientation, and appreciation programs, including recognition events.
  • Develop and maintain a student placement program and coordinate student placements.
  • Increase public awareness and engage with stakeholders to promote volunteer and practicum programs.
  • Prepare and manage reports, including statistics and annual outcomes, for volunteer and student placement programs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor volunteer policies, procedures, guidelines, and handbooks.
  • Participate in community engagement activities, such as volunteer fairs, tours, and presentations.
  • Manage the annual volunteer services budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of volunteer and/or event management experience for a large volunteer program.
  • Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of three academic years.
  • Certification in Volunteer Management is a strong asset.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and experience using databases.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and vehicle available for business use, to attend various events, meetings and to travel to other sites within Calgary.

Job Details

  • Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Salary: $60,000 to $64,000 annually
  • Job type: Full-Time | Permanent
  • In office position located downtown Calgary
