This role is essential to providing an engaging experience for our volunteers and requires a passion for working with volunteers, colleagues, and the public. Building relationships, maintaining data integrity, and finding the right people to fill volunteer roles is all part of the job.

The Coordinator will provide a positive, memorable, and safe experience for WinSport’s volunteers. Working with various internal and external stakeholders, the Coordinator is responsible for the Volunteer Engagement Cycle at WinSport, including but not limited to: recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluation and recognition.

**What you will be doing**:

- Coordinate all aspects of the Volunteer Engagement Cycle to ensure an inspiring and engaging volunteer program
- Manage the volunteer database, demonstrating a commitment to the integrity of volunteer information
- Create and monitor volunteer schedules, working with stakeholders to guarantee operational needs are met
- Identify and action opportunities to support volunteer growth and engagement, including tracking volunteer perks, events, coaching/mentorship and training
- Working with the Senior Advisor, build and maintain relationships with departments to engage volunteers in enhanced opportunities
- Utilizing creativity, build and execute effective recruitment strategies to meet the continuous growth of opportunities and activities for WinSport Volunteers
- Facilitate trainings, orientations, and activities, including presentations to volunteers, parents, paid team members and the public
- Provide feedback, performance management and guidance to volunteers
- Coordinate and support the facilitation the Youth Leadership Program, including Leadership Training and the Youth Leadership Committee
- Actively participate in the guest experience at WinSport, role modelling initiative and innovation
- Work on special projects as required
- Always demonstrate a safe work practice by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you bring**:

- Previous experience leading volunteers
- CVA designation, or working towards the CVA designation is preferred
- Experience working with youth, including coaching and/or mentoring is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to relate and engage with a wide range of demographics
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and projects, while ensuring deadlines are met
- Ability to communicate effectively with public speaking and written communications
- Confident decision maker and creative problem solver, with the ability to take initiative, coordinate with others and follow through in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with MS Office and managing a database
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Volunteer Program (some weekend and evening work required)
