Quality & Operational Excellence Manager

Reporting to the Senior Quality Director, The Quality and Operational Excellence Manager will implement strategies to achieve business process excellence within S&C. Working closely with cross-functional leaders, the individual will execute process improvement initiatives to optimize overall operational goals. This role requires a strategic mindset complemented with excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement operational excellence strategies to meet operational, financial and people goals. Conduct Enterprise Value Stream Assessment to identify opportunities of improvement and establish standard processes using lean principles.  Establish relationship with functional leaders and align them with the operational excellence goals.  Lead cross functional kaizen events to support key improvement projects and champion change management processes.  Use analytical methods/quantitative analysis to assess non-value add activities and provide recommendations to streamline processes.  Create Process Control Plan, Standardized work for products and coach leaders as necessary.  Develop and maintain quality standards for S&C’s New Product Development processes. Implement Total Quality Management System and World Class Manufacturing Practices. Utilize quality feedback and metrics to implement design improvements.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Business Management.  5+ years in project management/process improvement, with 3+ years in manufacturing industry is an asset. Experience with various manufacturing technologies and methods.  Ability to work in a high-paced environment and interact with team members over a wide scope of the organization.  Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications; specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and PowerBI. Must possess the ability to identify issues and create sustainable corrective action plan. Must possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certification preferred. 

Work Schedule: Onsite 

Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
