SUMMARY

The Senior Analyst, Claims Managemen t manages a myriad of advice and services provided in respect of claims for compensation, reparation, restitution or any other remedy for financial loss or breach of contractual obligation. They will oversee the processing of insurance claims to ensure the procedure is handled efficiently, accurately, and in a manner that protects the interests of the insured parties while also providing satisfactory customer service. They will serve as a liaison between clients, adjusters, service providers, and other parties who may be involved in a claim or an incident related to it.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Management 

Oversee the processing of insurance claims to ensure the procedure is handled efficiently, accurately, and in a manner that protects the interests of the insured parties Serve as a liaison between clients, adjusters, service providers, and other parties who may be involved in a claim or an incident related to it Claims File Management, including claim reporting, monitoring, collection of data, and resolution of claim Review moderate to large claim files with internal/external stakeholders including broker, insurers, adjusters, legal, and account leadership Review and analyze Third Party Adjuster other external reports to ensure proper disposition of claims Lead and participate in special projects within the risk management department Identify strategic opportunities based on financial analysis and projections, cost/benefit identification and analysis Provide technical guidance to staff on claim investigation, reserving evaluation and resolution of claims Responsible for implementing best practices based on company goals Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of claims production Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claim process Remain current on tort reform and aware of impact on claims management strategies Apply appropriate interventions and follow up on identified projects Collaborate with other Claims and business leaders to define and drive enterprise initiatives Assist or prepare files for lawsuit, trial or subrogation Manage complex general liability, automobile, US workers compensation claims, both litigated and non-litigated Conduct annual plan and budget preparation under guidance provided by leadership

Reporting / Communication

Prepare and analyze and claims reports, and all financial information associated with claims management including reconciling reserves and payments Prepare and present analytical reports on claims status, claim trends, and impact for management, including recommendations, and technical guidance Develop, and implement new/revised claims handling/best practices process improvements Develops and delivers the training sessions to client accounts / managers on new client onboarding Develops communication on claims

Insurance

Support the Risk Manager on insurance renewal application process for Canada and the US Support the facilitation of insurance certificate preparation and distribution

Incident Management

Supports the continued development of the BGIS’ incident management program including the development and implementation of control enhancements for significant risk events.  Monitors and communicates out on key risk incidents to increase awareness across the organization.

Other

Supports the Risk Management leadership with ad hoc requests 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Greater than 5 years of relevant working experience Insurance - 5 years in insurance industry or equivalent.  Ability to interact at all levels of the organization with strong organizational awareness- 5 years in medium to large, multi-departmental organization. Knowledge of insurance and risk management frameworks Strong presentation and facilitation skills Sound negotiation and problem-solving capabilities Strong organizational skills Multi stakeholder engagement ability Proven record of attention to detail, time management, and leadership abilities. Fluent in insurance process, including negotiation, reserving, and liabilities.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation – Would be an asset

Risk management designation (CRM, CRMA) Associate in Claims - Management (AIC or AIC-M) Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Chartered Loss Adjuster (CLA) Workers Compensation Professional (WCP)
