At Aviva, we're looking for a skilled professional to lead our Casualty Operation as a Major Case Unit Analyst Adjuster. This role requires a strong background in handling complex claims, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly handle a portfolio of predominantly commercial large loss and complex claims nationally, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Represent Aviva and our customers at mediations, arbitrations, trials, and other litigation processes, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
  • Coach and mentor team members to success, sharing technical and strategic skills and knowledge to drive growth and development.
  • Mitigate risk by collaborating with team members to identify and effectively manage loss costs and expenses, while improving system conditions and customer service.
  • Strive to continuously improve performance, reduce inefficiency, and ensure consistent application of claims policies and procedures.
  • Role model Aviva's values of care, commitment, community, and confidence, embodying our culture and standards.
  • Ensure key risks are identified, measured, monitored, and effectively managed, providing insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends and forecast large loss development, acting as a technical resource for senior management, underwriting, finance, and actuary.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education, CIP, and FCIP strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive casualty claims experience across all casualty lines.
  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in handling large and complex casualty claims, with extensive experience in coverage analysis, investigation, and quantum evaluation.
  • Prior leadership experience, with a strong track record of coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Expert knowledge of insurance practices, operations, and processes, with a good understanding of claims center, Qlik, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with excellent coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor, challenge, and grow with a diverse but highly experienced team, with a strong team outlook and excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Detail-focused, highly analytical orientation, with superior problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Motivation and superb organizational skills, with a willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Licensing across Canada preferred.
